David Spano, CFP®
President, Chief Executive Officer

Dave Spano is the President and CEO of Annex Wealth Management.

As President and CEO, Dave provides and implements the vision for the entire firm. Dave’s focus on independent advice and complete financial solutions has been the vision behind the establishment and growth of one of the premier independent financial service organizations in Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Under Dave’s direction, Annex Wealth Management® brings together high-quality, client-focused professionals from the investment advisory, retirement planning and estate planning fields to form a client service team prepared to meet the financial needs of a diverse client base.

Dave is a graduate of University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, and has earned his Certified Financial Planner designation.

He has served as Chairman of the Board of the Financial Planning Association of Southern Wisconsin, where he has also served as President and Director of Government Relations. A prominent figure in the community, Dave is the President of the Italian Community Center, Festa Italiana, and The United Ethnic Festivals. Dave also serves on the boards of Summerfest and The Historic Third Ward. Dave previously served on the board of the Lakeshore State Park and Miller Park Stadium Board (2004-2008).

In his personal time, Dave is an avid muskie fisherman, and spending time up North with his wife Kim and their two children.

Mark Oswald
Chief Compliance Officer, Chief Operations Officer

Mark Oswald is the Chief Compliance and Operations Officer at Annex Wealth Management.

As Chief Compliance and Operations Officer, his responsibilities include the continuing development of all aspects of the firm, including regulatory oversight of all Annex Wealth Management advisors, supervision of accounts and transactions, and compliance with the US Securities & Exchange Commission and related securities rules and regulations.

Before Annex Wealth Management, Mark served as the Chief Compliance Officer for FINRA Member Firms, SII Investments, Inc. and Investment Centers of America Inc.

Mark holds FINRA registrations of General Securities Representative (Series-7), General Securities Sales Supervisor (Series-8), General Securities Principal (Series-24), Uniform Securities Agent State Law (Series-63), and Uniform Investment Advisor Law (Series-65) with Annex Advisory Services.

Derek V.W. Felske, CFA
Chief Investment Officer

Derek V.W. Felske is the Chief Investment Officer at Annex Wealth Management.

As the Chief Investment Officer, Derek is responsible for establishing investment policy and strategy, strategic and tactical asset allocation, active manager selection, and the development of Annex’s discretionary managed account portfolios. He chairs the Investment Policy Committee and interacts closely with the firm’s Financial Advisors.

Before Annex Wealth Management, Derek served as Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager for Strong Capital Management and American Century Investments.

Derek graduated from Dartmouth with a BA in Economics, then earned his MBA in Finance and Accounting from Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania). He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Derek is an avid golfer and a proud father of his two daughters.

Mark Beck
Director of Wealth Management Services

Mark Beck is the Director of Wealth Management Services at Annex Wealth Management, and the host of Annex Wealth Management’s weekly radio program, “The Annex Wealth Management Investment Show.”

As Director of Wealth Management Services, Mark oversees the client-facing activities of the Annex Wealth Management team. It’s his job to create and maintain elite service, motivate and inspire excellence, and encourage strong relationships with Annex Wealth Management clients.

Mark holds his BA in Business Administration and is a member of the Financial Planning Association. Mark enjoys snow and water skiing, mountain biking, and golf.

Melissa Case, CPA
Chief Financial Officer

Melissa Case is Chief Financial Officer at Annex Wealth Management.

As Chief Financial Officer, Melissa oversees and forecasts the company’s growth, as well as monitors its balance sheet, all while managing human resources. Melissa is focused on efficiency, timely and accurate financial reporting and assisting with the strategic growth plans at Annex.

Prior to joining Annex, Melissa served as Controller at a civil engineering firm.

She graduated from Indiana University with a BS – Accounting, and received her MBA in Business Administration from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee.

Melissa is a member of the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accounts, and was named CFO of the Year in 2011.

Melissa enjoys playing and coaching softball, and spending time with her children.

Greg Batiansila
Director of Marketing

Greg Batiansila is Director of Marketing at Annex Wealth Management.

As Director of Marketing, he leads marketing strategy and develops message and voice across multiple platforms, using metrics to ensure the brand is communicated effectively.

Greg earned his BA from Concordia University Wisconsin.

Before he worked at Annex Wealth Management, Greg worked in marketing at Edgenet.

Greg enjoys filmmaking, writing, and spending time with his family.

Steve Dryer
Director of Operations

Steve Dryer is the Director of Operations at Annex Wealth Management.

As Director of Operations, Steve is responsible for achieving maximum operational efficiency throughout the firm contributing to an exceptional client experience. Steve’s responsibilities include the review and assessment of current and future organizational structure, as well as ensuring operational systems support current and future firm growth.

Prior to joining Annex, Steve was President of Mutual Financial Group, the wealth management and insurance subsidiary of Bank Mutual. He also spent 25 years at Northwestern Mutual working in a variety of progressive roles, including product marketing, business development, and strategic consulting.

Steve graduated from UW-Whitewater with a degree in Finance and received his Masters in Business Administration from Marquette University.

He enjoys coaching basketball, golf, reading, and spending time with his wife and children.

Brandon Arps is an Associate Wealth Manager at Annex Wealth Management.

As an Associate Wealth Manager, Brandon works closely with the Wealth Management team to assist clients in their financial planning needs.

Brandon earned his degree from St. Norbert College, and is FINRA Series 7 and 66 registered and has obtained his life, health, accident and long-term care licenses.

Before he worked at Annex Wealth Management, Brandon worked for BMO Harris Financial Advisors, formally known as Marshall & Illsley Financial Advisors and Marshall & Illsley Bank.

Brandon enjoys golfing, fishing and spending time with friends and family.

Jill Ackerman
Client Service Manager

Jill Ackermann is a Client Service Manager at Annex Wealth Management’s Lake Country Branch Office.

As a Client Service Manager, Jill serves as one of the primary points of contact for all service-related needs of Annex Wealth Management clients, which includes managing daily client service requests and inquiries; coordinating follow-through on account inquiry; financial planning and maintenance requests; preparing and scheduling client reviews; maintaining client records; and managing outgoing client communications.

Jill earned her BA from University of Wisconsin – Whitewater in Business, Dance, and Education.

Before she worked at Annex Wealth Management, Jill worked as a Client Associate for a Managing Director/Investment Officer at Wells Fargo Advisors.

Jill loves to be outdoors, active in her community, and spending time with her family.

David G. Batten, CFP®, CIMA®, CRPS®
Wealth Management Specialist

David Batten is a Wealth Management Specialist at Annex Wealth Management.

As a Wealth Management Specialist, Dave meets with prospective clients, working to secure the client relationship and then oversees those relationships for the long-term. Wealth managers conduct initial portfolio reviews with prospects and clients to determine or validate current investment objectives; prepare recommendations of appropriate investment models and allocations developed by Annex Wealth Management’s Central Planning department; and engages in business development to deliver results.

David earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from UW – Milwaukee and his MS – Management degree from Cardinal Stritch University. He holds a State of Wisconsin Life and Health Insurance license and has passed the General Securities Representative (Series 7), Uniform Securities Agent State Law (Series 63), and Uniform Investment Advisers Law (Series 65) exams.

Before he worked at Annex Wealth Management, David was with M&I Wealth Management (now BMO Financial Group) and worked in the Personal Trust group, the Financial Advisory area and in Retirement Plan services.

David enjoys rock climbing, kayaking, and biking.

Lori Beihoff
Operations Specialist

Lori Beihoff is an Operations Specialist at Annex Wealth Management.

Lori earned her Bachelor of Arts at Indiana University.

Before Annex Wealth Management, Lori worked in corporate retail focused on inventory management, training and marketing.

Lori enjoy spending time with her family, the great outdoors, and traveling.

Before Annex Wealth Management, Amy worked at Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, JP Morgan’s Private Wealth division in Milwaukee and Chicago and Global View Capital Advisors in Waukesha.

Amy earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor of Arts in French from UWM in 2006. In 2012, Amy graduated with a Master of Business Administration from Alverno College.

Amy enjoys SCUBA diving and is passionate about sharks and protecting the oceans.

Jordan Brown, CFP®, AAMS®
Associate Wealth Manager

Jordan Brown is an Associate Wealth Manager at Annex Wealth Management.

As an Associate Wealth Manager, Jordan works closely with the Wealth Management team to assist clients in their financial planning needs.

Before Annex, Jordan was an Associate Financial Consultant at Charles Schwab Co., Inc. He graduated from the Charles Schwab Financial Consultant Academy in January of 2017. The year and a half long program exposed him to a variety of areas in the financial services industry. Upon completing the program, Jordan and his family relocated to Brookfield, WI.

Jordan graduated from Indiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. He holds the General Securities Registered Representative (Series-7) and NASAA Uniform Combined State Law (Series-66) as well as the State of Wisconsin Life, Variable, and Accident & Health Insurance Licenses. He also obtained an Accredited Asset Management Specialist designation (AAMS®). He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Finance – focusing on Financial Analysis from Purdue University Global. He successfully completed the CFP® Board’s certification requirements and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER ™.

Jordan’s focus is to help individuals succeed and give clients peace of mind. He understands the world of finance can be confusing, so his goal is to make it simple. He loves spending time with his wife and three kids, golfing, going to sporting events, working out, and reading.

Jennifer Cannon
Operations Specialist

Jennifer is an Operations Specialist at Annex Wealth Management.

Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts from Mount Mary University.

Before Annex Wealth Management, Jennifer worked in corporate Retail doing buying, inventory management, merchandising and marketing.

Jennifer enjoys spending time with her two children, family and friends.

Danny Clayton
Marketing Content Manager

Danny Clayton is the Marketing Content Manager for Annex Wealth Management.

Danny’s responsible for sharing the stories of Annex Wealth Management. Besides writing daily radio updates for the Milwaukee market, he also interviews members of the Annex team to showcase the depth and breadth of expertise in all areas of financial planning including retirement planning, tax planning, estate planning, and investment management. He anchors our radio shows that air throughout southeastern Wisconsin, the Fox Valley, and northern Illinois.

The bulk of his career was in broadcast as both an on-air talent and programming manager with a long run at the original WKTI. He also worked in various marketing roles at Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Kapco Metal Stamping. He can be heard weekly as the host of Saturday morning programming on WTMJ.

He and his wife, Suzanne, live in Fox Point where he spoils two Golden Retrievers. Both their boys are grown and working, one in corporate travel, the other in law enforcement. His most recent passion is GORUCK, 12-hour physical challenges led by Special Ops soldiers. Even he doesn’t know why he does this.

He’s an active member of Eastbrook Church in Milwaukee.

Kathy Croak
Lead Client Service Manager

Kathy Croak is a Lead Client Service Manager at Annex Wealth Management.

As Lead Client Service Manager, Kathy manages and supervises processes and procedures for our Service Team. Kathy serves as one of the primary points of contact for Annex Wealth Management’s client service related requests. This includes managing daily client service requests and inquiries; coordinating follow-through on account inquiry; financial planning and maintenance requests; preparing and scheduling client reviews; maintaining client records; and managing outgoing client communications.

Before Annex Wealth Management, Kathy worked in the financial industry for over 20 years in banking and retirement plans.

Kathy enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, who is enrolled at University of Wisconsin.

Al Dearing
Financial Advisor

Al Dearing is a FINRA registered representative with over 30 years of experience in financial services. He has been a Registered Principal and past-President of Elmbrook Financial Services over the last 25 years.  Al’s responsibilities at Elmbrook included the supervision and management of the firm’s daily operations in addition to advising his own personal clients.

Al has received both the 2010 and 2011 Five Star Wealth Manager award featured in Milwaukee Magazine. This award seeks to spotlight an elect group of representatives who are exceptional in both ability and commitment to client satisfaction. In identifying the award winners, a survey field including both clients and financial service professionals were asked to evaluate their advisors based on criteria such as; integrity, communication, customer service, knowledge/expertise, value and overall satisfaction.

Al and his wife Sandy are long time residents of Elm Grove, where they are active in their family and church life.

Brenda Doucas
Operations Specialist

Brenda Doucas is an Operations Specialist at Annex Wealth Management.

Brenda earned her Bachelor of Science in Marketing at the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater.

Before Annex Wealth Management, Brenda worked in the Medical Services Industry and worked as a stay-at-home mom for her two daughters.

Brenda enjoys spending time with her husband, cheering at her daughters’ sporting events and multiple outdoor recreational activities.

Michael Duffy
Registered Principal

Michael Duffy is a Registered Principal at Annex Wealth Management.

As a Registered Principal, Michael helps to ensure Annex is efficient, effective, and compliant with business policies, industry regulations and standards.

Since 2000, Michael has worked in the Financial Services Industry, joining Annex in 2010.

Michael graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, and has passed the following FINRA qualification examinations: General Securities Principal (Series 24), General Securities Representative (Series 7), Futures Managed Funds (Series 31), and Uniform Combined State Law (Series 66). He is also Wisconsin Insurance Licensed in Life, Accident & Health.

Michael enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering, coaching and mentoring, participating in team sports and being outdoors.

Stephanie Emons
Program & Events Manager

Stephanie Emons is the Program & Events Manager at Annex Wealth Management.

As Program & Events Manager, Stephanie serves as the supervisor of the team’s highly skilled Client Service Managers. She plans and executes Annex events including Client Appreciation Events, Workshops and our Client Education Series. She also assists with internal and external communication efforts for staff and clients.

Before Annex Wealth Management, Stephanie served as a fundraising director and special event manager for several area non-profit organizations.

Stephanie enjoys serving on the West Allis/West Milwaukee School Board and is also the PTA President at her son’s school. She is a shuttle for her son and his many sports and activities and is an avid reader and sports fan.

Susan Felton
Client Service Manager

Susan Felton is a Client Service Manager at Annex Wealth Management.

As a Client Service Manager, Susan serves as one of the primary points of contact for all service-related needs of Annex Wealth Management clients, which includes managing daily client service requests and inquiries; coordinating follow-through on account inquiry; financial planning and maintenance requests; preparing and scheduling client reviews; maintaining client records; and managing outgoing client communications.

Before Annex Wealth Management, Susan worked as a stay-at-home-mom and before that, performed administrative operations at SysLogic, Inc., and Cap Gemini.

Becky Fink
Client Service Manager

Becky Fink is a Client Service Manager at Annex Wealth Management.

As a Client Service Manager, Becky serves as one of the primary points of contact for all service-related needs of Annex Wealth Management clients, which includes managing daily client service requests and inquiries, coordinating follow-through on account inquiry, financial planning and maintenance requests, preparing and scheduling client reviews, maintaining client records, and managing outgoing client communications.

Becky graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a degree in Business Administration.

Before Annex Wealth Management, Becky was at The Northern Trust Company in Chicago, Illinois for over sixteen years. She spent the majority of that time as a Senior Account Manager in the Wealth Management Group working with high-net worth families and individuals.

Becky lives in Elm Grove with her husband, Eric, and their son Benjamin. She enjoys photography, travelling and spending time with friends and family.  Becky also volunteers at school and church and is a board member of the Elm Grove Junior Guild.

Jason obtained both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as well as a Certificate in Financial Planning from Northwestern University.  Jason has passed the following FINRA exams: General Securities Representative (Series 7), Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination (Series 63), and Uniform Investment Advisor Law Examination (Series 65).

Jason enjoys fishing, skiing and cheering on his daughters’ sporting events.

Robert Godfroy
Financial Planner

Robert Godfroy is a Financial Planner on Annex Wealth Management’s Financial Planning Team.

As a Financial Planner, Robert helps clients define and develop realistic plans designed to assist them in meeting their financial objectives – while keeping them on track and focused on their goals.  He also works internally with Advisors on financial planning concepts to create professional deliverables to our client base.

Before Annex Wealth Management, Robert worked in financial services in the Milwaukee area and before that worked in Civil Engineering.

Robert graduated from Iowa State University with a BSCE, and also has earned a FINRA Series 6/63, and is licensed in insurance for Wisconsin Life, Accident & Health.

Robert enjoys time with children and grandchildren, travel, and hiking.

William H. Haise

William H. Haise is a Wealth Manager at Annex Wealth Management.

As Wealth Manager, Bill meets with prospective clients, working to secure the client relationship and then oversee those relationships for the long-term. Before joining Annex Wealth Management in 2011, Bill spent over 40 years in the financial industry in key roles like registered representative and in management, including President of two different wealth management firms.

Bill is an avid golfer, an active member of North Hills Country Club, and a proud grandfather.

Sandra Hanson
Office Administrator

Sandra Hanson is an Office Administrator at Annex Wealth Management’s Mequon Branch Office.

As an Office Administrator, Sandy answers calls from current and potential clients, coordinates meetings, maintains client files and handles many administrative duties.

Before Annex Wealth Management, Sandy worked with a Financial Advisor specializing in 401(k) plans, and with an Advisor in the Commodity Trading arena.

Prior to joining Annex Wealth Management, Colleen’s career included financial roles in Investor Relations & Strategic Planning for WEC Energy Group, as Vice President for Banc One Venture Corporation and as a Public Utility Research Analyst for RW Baird & Company.

Colleen earned her MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Colleen serves on several boards including a local arts organization and financial institution and is an adjunct professor at Concordia University Wisconsin.

Zachary Jaro is an Associate Wealth Manager at Annex Wealth Management.

Zachary entered the financial services industry upon graduating from college. He spent time with Wells Fargo Advisors and Raymond James as a financial advisor before becoming registered with Annex Wealth Management in January of 2018.

Zachary attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he received a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree in Finance, with an emphasis in Financial Planning.  He attended Northwestern University where he successfully completed the CFP® Board’s certification requirements and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™. Zach also holds FINRA registrations: General Securities Registered Representative (Series-7), NASAA Uniform Combined State Law (Series-66), and holds State of Wisconsin Life, Variable, and Accident & Health Insurance Licenses.

Jill Martin, JD
Estate Planning Attorney

Jill Martin is an Estate Planning Attorney at Annex Wealth Management.

As an Estate Planning Attorney, Jill serves as a specialized estate planning resource for Annex Wealth Management’s Advisors and clients. Jill’s contributions include evaluating existing estate plans and documents, creating customized estate planning reports, and modeling sophisticated estate tax planning strategies using state-of-the art software.

Prior to joining Annex Wealth Management, Jill worked as Regional Director of Trust for BMO Harris Bank where she worked with high net worth clients on complex trust administration and estate planning matters.  Jill started her career as an attorney in private practice advising clients on estate planning, tax, real estate and corporate law.

Jill earned a BBA in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and her JD from the Nebraska College of Law.

Jill is actively involved in numerous organizations including the Children’s Hospital Planned Giving Council, Waukesha County Estate Planning Council, TEMPO Waukesha and is a board member of the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Alumni Association.

Jill lives in Waukesha with her husband Shane, where she enjoys playing and coaching softball and volunteering as a foster home for Great Danes.

Cliff McWhorter
Financial Advisor

Cliff began his financial services career as a life insurance agent with Transamerica Occidental Life in 1988. He moved on to Aetna in 1991 and continued to help service clients with life, health, disability needs insurance issues but also began laying the groundwork to become an investment professional. In 1997, Cliff became an independent broker servicing clients with insurance and investment needs and has continued to develop expertise in many different areas of the financial industry. Cliff is now proud to be a member of Annex Wealth Management LLC.

Cliff is committed to the highest standards of integrity and professionalism in his relationships with clients. The ultimate goal is to find suitable solutions to each financial issue that a client may encounter and solve those issues with the client’s best interests in mind. Cliff’s most important goal is to establish an ongoing relationship with his clients through customer service, problem solving, staying in touch and monitoring plans that have been established. The focus of his business is financial and investment planning but his insurance background continues to be a great value to clients with insurance needs and particularly health insurance as laws change in this country.

Cliff has a double major in Accounting and Business Administration from Illinois State University. In addition to his insurance license, Cliff has also successfully passed the Uniform Securities Agent State Law (Series 63), General Securities Representative (Series 7), and the Uniform Investment Advisor’s Law (Series 65) exams.

Cliff lives in Arlington Heights, IL and is very happy to be a grandfather. He enjoys most sports and continues as a director in the Northern Illinois Girls Feeder Basketball Association.

Matthew Morzy is an Investment Management Specialist at Annex Wealth Management.

As Investment Management Specialist, Matthew works alongside Annex’s Chief Investment Officer to assist in implementing Annex Wealth Management’s investment strategy. Matthew focuses on improving efficiency in managing client portfolios, as well as adding to the research and monitoring of investments managed by Annex.

Matthew also works to make sure that client portfolios work synergistically with their tax and financial plans.

Matthew has over ten years of experience in the industry working with clients and attending to their financial goals. He has spent the majority of that time helping to educate investors on the financial markets and how to best plan for the future.

Matthew graduated in 2005 from Carroll University with a degree in Business Administration in Finance.  In 2014, he graduated from the Marquette University Graduate School of Management with his MBA. Matthew holds the series 7, 24, 63 and 66 securities licenses and is a Certified Financial Planner®.

Matthew lives in Waukesha with his wife Abbie, their son Levi and daughter Kennedy.

Mandy Nowaczynski is a tax planner at Annex Wealth Management.

As a tax planner, Mandy further integrates tax planning strategies into Annex Wealth Management’s financial planning, as well as prepares tax returns for selected Annex Wealth Management clients.

Before joining Annex Wealth Management, Mandy worked as a Tax Manager for a regional accounting firm where she advised on a variety of tax matters, specializing in income, trust and estate tax planning.

Mandy obtained her degree from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee where she majored in Accounting and Finance, she then proceeded to get her Masters in Professional Accounting.  Mandy is a CPA and a CFP®.

Mandy spends all her spare time with her husband and two little boys.

Patrick O’Halloran

A native of Milwaukee, WI, Patrick has been an independent financial advisor assisting clients since 1991, specializing in the areas of retirement planning, creative income strategies, money management and estate planning.

Patrick has established key relationships throughout the financial services industry, which keeps him abreast of current trends and products.

Thorough fact-finding, communication, and personal attention are cornerstones for Patrick in helping clients focus on the “big picture” and implement solutions to help achieve their financial goals.

Patrick is a graduate of Life Underwriters Training Council and attends ongoing continuing education courses. Joe Schilz, CPA is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting.  Joe has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1987.  He has owned his own CPA firm since that time, employing a staff of eight and providing tax and accounting services to more than 350 business and 2000 individual clients.

Joe began working in the financial services industry in 1997, and has been registered with Annex Wealth Management since 2006. During that time he has been recognized as a two-time winner of the Five Star Professional Wealth Manager award as it appears in Milwaukee Magazine.

Prior to joining Annex, Mr. Schilz served as a Field Auditor for the Wisconsin Department of Revenue for four years.

Jackie earned her Bachelors of Business in Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater.  She holds the State of Wisconsin Life and Health Insurance Licenses and has passed the General Securities Representative (Series 7), Uniform Securities Agent State Law (Series-63) and Uniform Combined State Law (Series 66) exams.

John Sobiech
Financial Advisor

John’s personal and professional goal is to strive to be the most ethical, trustworthy and useful consultant to his clients. By being committed to providing independent, objective advice and financial direction in the areas of investment management, estate and personal financial planning, he can help his clients to identify their financial planning goals and together, take action toward achieving them.

He understands the magnitude of the responsibility associated with helping his clients in the financial planning for their entire life. John develops comprehensive, personal financial plans, supported with strong investment products, tailored specifically to each client’s needs. Over time, he helps individuals and families turn their dreams of sending their children to college, providing for retirement, and accumulating assets for financial security, into attainable, real solutions that can improve their lives. Every aspect of a client’s plan requires continuous monitoring and communication, and it is a responsibility that John takes very seriously.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, John also has numerous years of ongoing training, education, registrations and licensing in multiple states. His background, with over 25 years of experience and insightful perspective, give John’s clients the confidence to partner with him for the long term. John, and his wife Janet, live in Richfield surrounded by an assortment of flora and fauna. He enjoys gardening, beekeeping, fishing, curling, geology, history and visiting National Parks.

Mark Strey
Associate Wealth Manager

Mark Strey is an Associate Wealth Manager at Annex Wealth Management.

As an Associate Wealth Manager, Mark works closely with the Director of Wealth Management Services, Mark Beck, and Wealth Manager Deanne Phillips to assist clients in their financial planning needs.

Before joining Annex, Mark worked independently as a Financial Advisor and has been in the Investment Industry since 2013.  He holds the Series 6, 63, and 65 Securities licenses, along with the State of Wisconsin Health and Life Insurance Licenses.  Mark has also completed the following industry designations: Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow (LUTCF®), Financial Services Certified Professional (FSCP®) and Chartered Mutual Fund Counselor (CMFC®).

Mark graduated from UW-Milwaukee in 2012 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication.  During his time there, Mark was a student-athlete and a member of the Panther’s baseball team.

Outside of the office, Mark is an avid outdoorsman.  He enjoys hunting, fishing and spending time on Okauchee Lake.

Dean Strom
Financial Advisor

Dean began his financial services career in early 2000, with Elmbrook Financial Services, as an independent financial advisor.  Since joining the Annex team in 2012 he continues to garner trust, thanks and admiration from his clients while helping them to reach their goals and dreams.

Dean’s business mission is simple: To add value to his clients’ lives.  For some that may mean the desire for superior customer service.  Others may need retirement planning assistance or college savings ideas, while some simply request a sympathetic ear.  But nearly all of Dean’s clients ask for his help in limiting stock market risk and volatility and ensuring that they don’t outlive their retirement assets.  No matter what the need, Dean puts his all into adding value for his clients.

Dean services clients in over a dozen states and holds his FINRA requested Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses. Dean is also life insurance licensed in Wisconsin and Illinois.  He is a life-long southeastern Wisconsin resident and earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, with a major in mass communication and a minor in history.

Dean lives in Muskego, where he is active with the operation of the cities award winning school district. Dean is married and enjoys spending time with his wife Melanie and young daughter, Lindsay.  He also enjoys time with friends, traveling and many different forms of outdoor water activities—swimming, fishing and boating.

Eric Strom
Financial Planning Specialist

As a Financial Planning Specialist, Eric Strom works with the Financial Planning Team, employing leading-edge technology to help create a financial plan tailored to a client’s risk tolerance, needs, and expectations.

Before Annex Wealth Management, Eric worked as a tax advisor providing specialized tax planning and preparation.

Eric graduated from Marlboro College with a degree in Biochemistry. He has passed the following FINRA qualification examinations: General Securities Representative (Series 7) and Uniform Combined State Law (Series 66). He is also Wisconsin Insurance Licensed in Life, Accident & Health.

Eric is a proud father and enjoys spending time with family.

Ken Symes
Associate Branch Director

Ken Symes is Associate Branch Director at Annex Wealth Management’s Mequon Branch Office.

As Associate Branch Director, Ken meets with prospective clients, working to secure the client relationship and then oversee those relationships for the long-term. Wealth managers conduct initial portfolio reviews with prospects and clients to determine or validate current investment objectives; prepare recommendations of appropriate investment models and allocations developed by Annex Wealth Management’s Central Planning department; and engages in business development to deliver results.

Before Annex Wealth Management, Ken built almost ten years of trading experience in the options and foreign exchange markets.

Ken holds his Bachelor’s degree and MBA, and holds the State of Wisconsin Life and Health Insurance Licenses, as well as FINRA registrations of General Securities Representative (Series-7) and Uniform Securities Agent State Law (Series-63).

Ken enjoys volunteering for community groups, family and Wisconsin sports.

Patricia Tobin
Wealth Manager

Patricia Tobin is a Wealth Manager at Annex Wealth Management.

Patricia has over twenty-five years of experience in the financial services industry. Before Annex Wealth Management, Patricia served as a Senior Principal at Accenture, providing management consulting services to wealth and asset management firms.

Patricia graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a BA in International Relations, Economics and Latin American Studies. She also earned her MS in International Business and Financial Services Marketing from UW-Madison. Patricia is currently a Candidate for CFP® Certification with a target to complete in January 2019.

Patricia enjoys bicycling, golf, travelling and spending time at their family cottage in northern Wisconsin.

Robert P. Teofilo
Registered Representative

Bob has been a Financial Advisor full time since 1979.   His primary role for these many years has been to help his clients navigate through the many challenges of their financial future.  The philosophy that Bob has worked with since the very beginning is that, “If you always work with the client’s best interest at heart, everything else takes care of itself.”  He considers it an honor to serve his clients and takes their trust in him very seriously.

Together his wife Kathy, Bob has nine children and two grandchildren.  Bob considers himself very blessed and feels an obligation to offer as much time as he can to volunteer, as all his family does, to numerous church and school organizations.

Shannon Thurner
Lead Client Service Manager

Shannon Thurner is a Lead Client Service Manager at Annex Wealth Management.

As Lead Client Service Manager, Shannon manages and supervises processes and procedures for our Service Team. Shannon serves as one of the primary points of contact for Annex Wealth Management’s client service related requests. This includes managing daily client service requests and inquiries; coordinating follow-through on account inquiry; financial planning and maintenance requests; preparing and scheduling client reviews; maintaining client records; and managing outgoing client communications.

Before Annex Wealth Management, Shannon worked for US Bank and National Investment Services.

Shannon obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Mississippi. She currently holds FINRA Uniform Investment Adviser Law registration (Series 65).

Shannon loves time with her family, reading and enjoying the Lake Country area.

Mike Venturini

Randy Winkler, CFP®
Financial Planning Manager

Randy Winkler is Financial Planning Manager at Annex Wealth Management.

As the Financial Planning Manager, Randy works with clients to help them define and develop realistic plans designed to assist them in meeting their financial objectives – while keeping them on track and focused on their goals.  He also works internally with his team and wealth managers on financial planning areas such as retirement planning, social security elections, tax planning, and insurance analysis.

Before Annex Wealth Management, Randy held various financial advising positions at A.G. Edwards, Disciplined Financial Services, and Harris Investor Services.

Randy graduated from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee with a degree in Mathematics, and has earned CFP® certification. He has passed the following FINRA exams: General Securities Representative (Series 7), Investment Company and Variable Products Representative (Series 6), Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination (Series 65), and Uniform Securities Agent State Law (Series 63).
